Hello, I'm AGRO, AV1arts.
From Corporate Marketer to Urban Art Maverick My journey from a corporate marketer to a full-time artist was not just a career change; it was a declaration of my commitment to my passion and my son. I paint urban, perspective-based designs using spray paint, airbrush, and acrylics. My artistic practice is driven by a deep desire to be present in my son’s life, showing him that it is possible to chase dreams and defy societal expectations. This journey also required leaving behind my roots and family, who reside in New Jersey, where I lived for 40 years. While I could have returned to the familiarity and support of my community, I chose to remain in Europe, sacrificing personal comforts to build a life where I could be close to my son. After two decades in corporate marketing, I left that world to pursue my true calling as an artist, creating tangible representations of my identity, personality, and talents. My work explores the themes of urban existence, multiculturalism, rebellious subcultures, and turbulent realities. These elements reflect my experiences and observations from living in vibrant cities and engaging with diverse communities. Defying conformity, my art echoes the pulse of urban life with provocative imagery and unapologetic expression. It is an invitation to dare, to defy expectations, and to break free from the ordinary. Engaging in a visual dialogue with the viewer, my work invites exploration of the complexities of urban life and the strength found in rebellion and loyalty. Resonating with those who appreciate urban culture and a rebellious spirit, my art aims to build enduring relationships within the art world. Experimentation plays a crucial role, from evolving my style to refining techniques. Guided by a passion for my son, my art, and the belief that hard work and dedication can overcome any obstacle, I continue to push boundaries and grow as an artist—no matter the personal sacrifices along the way.
